Upcoming Events

14th-21st  October 2013 :Computing in HIgh Energy Physics conference, Amsterdam

28th  March 2013 : IT Seminar - Heterogeneous System Architectures from APUs to discrete GPUs

We will present the Heterogeneous Systems Architectures that new AMD processors are bringing with the new GCN based GPUs and the new APUs. We will show how together they represent a huge step forward for programming flexibility and performance efficiently for Compute.

27th February - 1st March 2013 : 21st Euromicro International Conference on Parallel, Distributed, and Network-Based Processing PDP 2013

Parallel, Distributed, and Network-Based Processing has undergone impressive change over recent years. New architectures and applications have rapidly become the central focus of the discipline. These changes are often a result of cross-fertilisation of parallel and distributed technologies with other rapidly evolving technologies such as telecommunications and multimedia. It is of paramount importance to review and assess these new developments in comparison with recent research achievements in the well-established areas of parallel and distributed computing, from industry and the scientific community. PDP 2013 will provide a forum for the presentation of these and other issues through original research presentations and will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and new ideas at the highest technical level..

10 - 16 November 2012 : Supercomputing

For 24 years, SC has been at the forefront in gathering the best and brightest minds in supercomputing together, with our unparalleled technical papers, tutorials, posters and speakers. SC12 will take a major step forward not only in supercomputing, but in super-conferencing, with everything designed to make the 2012 conference the most ‘you’ friendly conference in the world. We’re streamlining conference information and moving to a virtually real-time method of determining technical program thrusts. No more pre-determined technical themes picked far in advance. Through social media, data mining, and active polling, we’ll see which technical interests and issues emerge throughout the year, and focus on the ones that interest you the most.

19 - 21 September 2012 : Facing the Multicore-Challenge III

This conference is the 3rd in a series, starting in 2010 in Heidelberg at the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences (HAW) and 2011 at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the Engineering Mathematics and Computing Lab (EMCL). It aims to combine new aspects of multi-/manycore microprocessor technologies, parallel applications, numerical simulation, software development and tools. Contributions are welcome from all participating disciplines. Particular emphasis is placed on the support and advancement of young scientists.

27-31 August 2012 : EURO-PAR 2012 International European Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing

Euro-Par is an annual series of international conferences dedicated to the promotion and advancement of all aspects of parallel and distributed computing. It covers a wide spectrum of topics from algorithms and theory to software technology and hardware-related issues, with application areas ranging from scientific to mobile and cloud computing. Euro-Par provides a forum for the introduction, presentation and discussion of the latest scientific and technical advances, extending the frontier of both the state of the art and the state of the practice. The main audience of Euro-Par are the researchers in academic institutions, government laboratories and industrial organisations. In addition, Euro-Par conferences provide a platform for a number of accompanying, technical workshops.

A summary talk can be found here.

03-04 July 2012 : CERN Openlab 2-day workshop on advanced parallelism

The modern computing era has seen an explosive growth of parallelism inherent in computing chips. Taking advantage of these new features is an opportunity, but also a challenge. To better prepare for the road ahead, Intel and CERN openlab are organizing an advanced workshop focused on parallel programming and tuning of software. The two day event is led by experts from Intel.
